SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Green Granny Smith apples
- Caramel (baking caramels or favorite caramel recipe)
- Nut topping
- Sprinkles in gold and white
- White chocolate
- White cupcake holders
- Wilton® dowel rods or Wilton® lollipop sticks
- Parchment paper
- Ribbon
DIRECTIONS:
- Thoroughly wash apples and dry, remove stem and place dowel rod or stick in the center of the apple. The rod or stick should go almost all the way through the apple, from top to bottom. This makes it sturdier when rolling your apples in caramel and toppings.
- Melt baking caramels or follow your own recipe to create caramels. Once caramel has reached desired temp, roll apples in caramel. Tap stick on the side of the bowl or slowly twirl the apple around to remove excess caramel.
- To make a caramel apple with a nut topping or sprinkles, dip or roll it in the toppings directly after dipping into caramel. Place dipped apples onto parchment paper to dry.
- If dipping caramel apples into white chocolate, allow caramel to harden before dipping into white chocolate. Once the apple is covered in white chocolate you can add sprinkles.
- Place into white cupcake holders
- Tie ribbon on top of candy stick
