Fall Painted Floral Pots

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Unfinished wood floral pots
• Acrylic craft paint
• Paintbrushes
• Floral picks
• Plastic wrap
• Damp cloth

DIRECTIONS:

1. Use dark, medium and light value paints.
2. Starting with the darkest paint color, work into corners of basket weave.
3. Apply medium value next, covering flat surfaces.
4. Apply lightest value last, creating weathered highlights.
5. Use old brushes for a more textured look. Dab, brush and rub with the brushes for a variety of textures. Apply metallic paint to horizontal bands of basket as a last step. Add several layers depending on desired opacity.

JOANN HACKS:

• If baskets already have floral in them, wrap picks with plastic wrap until paint is dry. Keep a damp cloth available to quickly wipe up any mistakes.
