SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Unfinished wood signs
- Paint (desired fall colors)
- Fall flowers & leaves
- Hot glue gun / glue
- Wire cutter
- Paintbrush (medium flat brush and detail brush)
- Pencil
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- Decide on the colors to paint your sign. Start with the background of your sign and paint in and around all the raised letters. For the stained and whitewashed look, water down your acrylic paint. The more water the lighter the color so experiment with the look you want by adding more water or paint.
- Once the background is painted and dry, paint the raised letters a contrasting color. Touch up any paint that needs cleaned up along the edges.
- Glue on any floral embellishments to the top or around the sign as desired. Use wire cutters to trim the stems and hot glue to attach them to the sign.
JOANN HACKS:
- When doing freehand designs lightly pencil in the design on your wood first. Paint the leaves and background designs first then layer on the other flowers and design elements.
