TOP, PANTS, & BLAZER

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • McCall'S 8114 Pattern for Top
  • Vogue 9282 Pattern for Pant
  • Simplicity 8742 Pattern for Jacket
  • 1 pkg 1/4" Elastic
  • Sewing Notions

DIRECTIONS:

Use 5/8" seam on pattern.
Use Yardage on pattern for all garments.

TOP:
  1. Omit lacings and center back pattern.
  2. Add 2" to side back pattern which becomes the center back.
  3. Remove center back seam allowance.
  4. Place back pattern on the bias.
  5. Straps: Cut out 1 1/4' bias strips, fold right sides together, turn with a loop turner.
  6. Cut to desired length needed to cross over in the back.
  7. Add elastic 1" smaller than the top back bodice, top stitch down.

PANTS:
  1. Remove excess fabric for buttons at the princess line.
  2. Sew a normal seam.
  3. Omit the buttons.

BLAZER:
  1. Remove pockets.
  2. Remove cuff and shorten sleeve by 6".
  3. Complete as per instructions on pattern.
  4. Hem sleeve with a 1 1/4" hem.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Use a #14 needle when sewing layers.
  • Glitter should be cut in one way.

FALL SKIRT & TOP

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Simplicity 9226 Pattern (follow amount of fabric on pattern envelope)
  • Simplicity 8606 Pattern (add 12" yardage)
  • Lining: Same Amount as Top Minus 1/2yd
  • 9" Separating Zipper
  • 2 Small Buttons for Collar
  • Small Piece of Fusible Interfacing
  • Kraft Paper
  • Sewing Notions

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: Use 5/8" seam on pattern.
BLOUSE:
  1. Trace the back pattern onto kraft paper.
  2. Measure down 2" from the center back neckline.
  3. Measure up from the center back waistline 1 1/2".
  4. Measure down 1 1/2" at the armhole side seam then in 1 1/2".
  5. Draw a slightly curved line from the top to side seam, then to bottom of markings.
  6. Add 3/8" seam allowance to curved lines.
  7. Add a 5/8" to remaining center back.
  8. Sew the lining to the open back, turn right side out, press.
  9. Finish sewing the shoulder, side seam together.
  10. Leave sleeve sheer, sew bodice lining to armhole, insert sleeve.
  11. Cut out #5 pattern piece for the collar.
  12. Cut one out of gold sequin, two out of lining and one fusible.
  13. Press fusible to under collar lining.
  14. Place other lining under gold sequin.
  15. Make two bias loops for the two buttons.
  16. Place loops into the collar seam allowance, sew lining to gold sequin on all three sides.
  17. Attach to blouse neckline.

SKIRT:
  1. Cut out skirt out to instructions but add 6" in length to the hems for the midi length.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Sew slowly when sewing any type of sequins & use #14 size needle.
  • Tulle or netting does not have to be hemmed as it will not ravel.
