DIRECTIONS:
- Mix cookie dough and use food coloring to make various skin tones. Roll out sugar cookie dough.
- Use circle cookie cutters to make cookies traditional faces.
- Various Christmas cookies can be turned into faces:
- Elf, winter hat and Christmas present cookie cutters can make a face with facial hair.
- Christmas bear cookie cutters will make a face with pigtails or a cute family pet.
- Bells turned upside down will create a wild hairstyle.
- Round ornaments can create a baby face with a little lock of hair.
- Putting cookies on cookie sheet and then placing it in the fridge for a few minutes before baking will help keep the shape of the sugar cookies.
- Preheat oven and bake cookies following cookie recipe.
- Make royal icing with a consistency of toothpaste. Color with neutral and bright colors. Cut the tip of three disposable icing bags and place a #3 tip into each bag.
- Once cooled, decorate faces with different hairstyles, glasses and so on.
- Use a food-safe pen to draw on faces.
