SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Embroidery Cloth
  • Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint

  • Embroidery Hoops
  • Paint Brushes
  • Pencil
  • Optional: Raffia, Wooden Beads, Wide Popsicle Sticks, Hot Glue Gun/Glue Gun Sticks

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lightly trace embroidery hoops on the cloth to give yourself the space you have available to paint.
  2. Give the paints a shake.
  3. Paint a moon and stars inside the smallest hoop area.
  4. Paint a sunrise with Sunset Sky yellow paint. Add details with green and gray underneath.
  5. Cut about 8" of raffia and tied a knot in the center.
  6. Fold the raffia bundle in half and hot glue them down to the underside of the hoop.
  7. For the small moon and star, cut the popsicle sticks down to just a few inches and glue them to the back side of the hoop.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Using the Tulip Slick Dimensional Fabric Paint really gives these paintings a true embroidery feel.
  • The narrow tips can really create thin line work.
  • Use a small dash pattern to mimic embroidery stitches.
