SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- For each window:
- Determine Fabric Amount According to your Measurements
- Same Amount of Lining Fabric
- Four 1/2" Diameter Tension Rods
- Sewing Machine
- Basic Sewing Supplies
DIRECTIONS:
NOTE: 1/2" seam allowance.- Measure the inside width and length of window.
- Add 1 1/2" to the width measurement.
- Add 5" to length measurement.
- These two numbers are cutting size for both fabric and lining.
- Place fabric and lining right sides together and pin the length seams.
- Stitch 1/2" seams and turn rso and press.
- Finish top and bottom widths by serging or zigzag edge.
- Fold top and bottom edges to back 2 1/4" and press.
- Stitch 3/8" from finished edge and press shade.
- Insert one tension rod in window 6" to 8" from top.
- Insert another rod 6" to 8" down from first rod. These can be moved to your liking.
- Insert one rod I top channel of shade and then into top of window opening.
- Fourth rod can be placed into bottom channel and either left to hang as a weight or inserted in window.
JOANN HACKS:
- Use a 1/2" wooden dowel cut to size for bottom if not anchoring shade.
