Felt Campfire

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Felt sheets: 2 red glitter, 2 orange, 2 yellow, 3 sandstone, 1 dark brown, 1 white, 4 cobblestone embossed
  • Fiberfill
  • Fabric adhesive OR hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Sewing machine OR hand-sewing supplies
  • Red thread for flames
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Provided templates

DIRECTIONS:

    Flames
  1. Cut flames from templates - 2 large red, 2 medium orange & 2 small yellow.
  2. Using each of the red pieces as a base, layer colors by size. You will end up with two equal, multicolor flames.
  3. With wrong sides together, machine or hand-stitch flame pieces together, leaving the bottom open.
  4. Stuff joined flame with Fiberfill.
  5. Cover the bottom opening with scrap felt and secure with adhesive. Trim.

    Logs
  1. Cut 3 pieces of 12"x7" sandstone felt.
  2. Using a 1/4" seam allowance, fold fabric in half length-wise and sew open edges to create a tube.
  3. Turn tubes inside out (with seam on inside of tube).
  4. Stuff tubes with Fiberfill.
  5. Cut six 2-1/2" circles from white felt.
  6. Run glue around open ends and attach circles.
  7. Cut wood details from the dark brown felt. Glue to logs. Refer to photo for size and placement.

    Rocks
  1. Place two 3 1/2" pieces of cobblestone felt together, right sides together.
  2. Using a 1/4" seam allowance, sew the pieces together, leaving a 1" opening.
  3. Turn shapes right side out and stuff with Fiberfill.
  4. Close opening with glue or whipstitching.
