Felt Florals Hanging Pallet

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 14"x 10" unfinished hanging wood pallet
  • 7" unfinished wood letter
  • FolkArt Home Decor Chalk Finish Paint: White Adirondack
  • Ceramcoat Ultra Matte Acrylic Paint: Dragonfly
  • Paintbrushes
  • Sandpaper
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Craft glue
  • 9"x 12" felt sheets: various colors
  • 12"x 18" felt sheets: various colors
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Provided templates

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Paint pallet with White Adirondack paint. Allow to dry.
  2. Paint letter with Dragonfly paint. Allow to dry.
  3. Using sandpaper, heavily distress pallet and lightly distress wood letter.
  4. Create a large loop flower: Cut a strip of felt 4"x 18". Cut a 2" circle. Fold the strip in half. Cut perpendicularly into the folded edge 1 1/4" every 1/4" to create a fringe until reaching the end. Starting at one end, roll the strip applying hot glue to the end. Apply hot glue to the circle. Place the flower on the circle to hold it together.
  5. Create small loop flowers: Cut a strip of felt 3"x 12". Cut a 1" circle. Fold the strip in half. Cut perpendicularly into the folded edge 1 1/4" every 1/4" to create a fringe until reaching the end. Starting at one end, roll the strip applying hot glue to the end. Apply hot glue to the circle. Place the flower on the circle to hold it together.
  6. Create small fringe flowers: Cut a strip of felt 1 1/2"x 12". Cut a 1" circle. Cut in 1 1/4" along the 12" edge every 1/4" to create fringe until reaching the end. Starting at one end, roll the strip applying hot glue to the end. Apply hot glue to the circle. Place the flower on the circle to hold it together.
  7. Create small scalloped flowers: Cut a strip of felt 1 1/2"x 12". Cut a 1" Circle. Create a scalloped edge along the 12" side. Starting at one end, roll the strip applying hot glue to the end. Apply hot glue to the circle. Place the flower on the circle to hold it together.
  8. Cut felt leaves using provided template.
  9. Arrange flowers and leaves on pallet and hot glue in place.
  10. Adhere the painted letter to the pallet using craft glue.
