  • Felt fabric, 1 yard
  • Felt sheets, 9"x 12", in 3 colors
  • Cotton yarn
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Water soluble marker
  • Wood dowel

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut a piece of felt 13"x 30" for back piece. Cut 2 more pieces of the same color, each 1.5"x 6". Set aside.
  2. In the top corner of one of the felt sheets, use the water soluble marker to write the words "to do". On the next sheet write the word "file". On the next sheet write the word "save". Embroider each of the words with the yarn and tapestry needle.
  3. Use the water soluble marker to draw out designs on each sheet of felt. Embroider the designs in different color yarns.
  4. Cut a length of yarn approximately 3 arms lengths. Blanket stitch across the top of the first felt sheet. Position it onto the felt back piece. Use a running stitch along the side, bottom, and up the other side to stitch it in place. Repeat for the other 2 felt sheets
  5. Fold the two 1.5"x 6" felt pieces in half, and sew them to the top of the felt back piece. Sew them in place.
  6. Cut 3 pieces of yarn, 30". Knot one end, and braid the yarns together, knot the other end.
  7. Place wood dowel through the tabs at the top of the piece. Tie the braid to the dowel to hang.
