DIRECTIONS:
- Print the patterns for the applique designs by clicking on the “Download Project PDF" button.
- Cut out the felt triangles: large - 18"x 9", medium - 12"x 6", small - 6"x 3".
- Place the fusible adhesive paper-side up on top of the pattern and trace around the applique designs desired. Note: The finished designs when fused to the pennant will be a mirror image of the original design which is not suitable for letters or words. To trace letters or words, turn the design over and trace from the back. The design will be very hard to see through, so to solve that, tape the original design on a window face out and tape the fusible adhesive on top to trace. This makes a simple lightbox.
- With paper scissors, cut out the traced design allowing at least 1/4" margin all around. Fuse the fusible adhesive to the back of the applique felt and cut out with the fabric scissors.
- Peel the paper backing off the applique, arrange the placement on the pennant and fuse in place using a pressing cloth over the felt.
- To make the trim and ties, fuse a strip of fusible adhesive on the back of the applique felt. Depending on the size of the pennant, the strip will be 1/2" to 1" wide by the width of the pennant. Cut out the strip with the adhesive to the desired size and fuse to the wide end of the pennant.
- The ties are 2" to 4" long and 1/4" to 1/2" wide depending pennant size. Cut four ties and pair them up, gluing ends together to form two V shapes. When dry, glue the V's to the back of the pennant.
