SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Use your favorite tart crust recipe
- Buttercream icing
- Petite cookies (for decoration)
- Assorted candies & sprinkles
- Piping bag & decorating tips
- #1 stencil (to cut out cake shape)
DIRECTIONS:
- Roll out the crust on a sheet of parchment paper, this will make it much easier to transfer it to a cookie sheet.
- Lay the stencil on top of the dough and using a sharp knife, carefully cut out a number one. Remember, you will need two of these when you are done.
- Make sure you let your tart crust cool completely before adding any icing (otherwise it will all melt off).
- Using a piping bag with decorating tip, pipe large florets onto the top of one of your number ones.
- Letting the icing dry for a while before placing the second number one on top will keep it from getting crushed
- Once your tart “sandwich" is made, add another layer of decorative piped florets to the top of your cake
- Decorate your cake with assorted candies, sprinkles & cookies.
