SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 2 yds 100% Cotton Fabric (for Center of Tablecloth)
- 2 yds 100% Coordinating Cotton Fabric (for Edge)
- Sewing Machine
- Basic Sewing Supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Measure the tabletop length and width.
- Add 1" to each measurement and cut a piece of fabric for the top of the tablecloth to that size.
- Cut two pieces of coordinating fabric (table width + 2.5") x 8 1/2"
- Cut two pieces of coordinating fabric (table length + 2.5") x 8 1/2"
- Use 1/2" seam allowances unless otherwise noted
- Hem each of the 4 coordinating pieces on one long edge by folding under 1/4" then 1/2", press
- Topstitch to finish edges.
- Mark the centers of each side of the large rectangle and unhemmed long edges of the coordinating pieces.
- With right sides together pin the coordinating pieces to the large rectangle matching the center marks and sew (there will be extra fabric on the corners).
- Press seams towards coordinating fabric.
- At the corners, with right sides together, pull the center fabric to form a triangle.
- Match the raw edges of the coordinating fabric, and hemmed edges and pin right sides together.
- Draw a straight line from the triangle point to the hemmed edge of the coordinating fabric and sew seam to create corner, trimming excess fabric to 1/2" and press.
