Roll a piece of clay into a ball, approximately the size of a fist. Carefully shape the clay into a small bowl. Pinch one side of the bowl to shape the Diya. Allow the clay to dry.
Use a small paintbrush and decorate the Diya with colorful designs. See the project image for inspiration. Allow the paint to dry.
For the flame, cut a piece of the metallic gold paper 1/2" x 6" long. Glue the ends together to make a ring. Cut 2 of the flame frames out of the metallic gold paper. Cut one large flame shape out of orange tissue paper, and 2 small flame shapes out of yellow tissue paper. Glue the yellow shapes to the one - one on either side. Glue that collection between the two metallic frames, and attach that to the gold metallic ring. Sit the tissue paper flame over the LED candle, inside the Diya.
