DIRECTIONS:
36” x 44” Quilt
Read all instructions before cutting and sewing.
- Use accurate ¼” seams.
- Label your fabrics 1 to 7. Cut 2 strips from each 5 ½” x WOF.
- From #1 cut (2) -3 ½” x 5 ½”, (1)- 4 ½” x 5 ½”, (1)-6 ½” x 5 ½” and (1)-9 ½” x 5 ½”
- From #2 cut (4)-3 ½” x 5 ½”, and (1)-8 ½” x 5 ½”.
- From #3 cut (1)-4 ½” x 5 ½”, (1)-6 ½” x 5 ½”, (3)-8 ½” x 5 ½”, and (1)-10 ½” x 5 ½”.
- From #4 cut (3)-4 ½” x 5 ½”, (1)-9 ½” x 5 ½”.
- From #5 cut (1)-4 ½” x 5 ½”, (1)-5 ½” x 5 ½”, (2)-6 ½” x 5 ½”, and (2)-8 ½” x 5 ½”.
- From #6 cut (1)-4 ½” x 5 ½”, (1)-7 ½” x 5 ½”, (2)-8 ½” x 5 ½”, and (2)-9 ½” x 5 ½”.
- From #7 cut (1)-4 ½” x 5 ½”, (3)-7 ½” x 5 ½”, and (2)-8 ½” x 5 ½”.
- From solid fabric cut (4)-2 ½” x WOF. Set aside for binding. Cut (6)-1 ½” x WOF strips. These are the strips that go between your vertical rows. Depending on the width of fabric you may have to sew strips together for extra length.
- Cut (5)-1 ½” x WOF. Subcut into (32)- 5 ½” x 1 ½” pieces.
- Use Diagram A for layout. Fabric number is circled. All pieces are 5 ½” wide so sizes shown are the length of piece. Sew a 1 ½” x 5 ½” piece of solid between each piece.
- Press as you sew. Measure when sewn and pressed to ensure all strips are the same length. You will probably have to trim a little off the bottom on some strips to even up.
- Sew vertical rows to strips as shown in diagram. It will be more accurate to sew Row 1 and 2 to a strip, then Row 3 and 4 to a strip and Row 5 and 6 to a strip. Press well.
- Join the units with the remaining 2 strips. Press and trim if needed.
- Sandwich backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt as desired
- Trim and sew on binding.

Cute quilt
I printed the instructions and they were easy enough to follow. I went to download and the picture pattern that people were saying they were missing was there. Quilt went together pretty quick.

The title of this quilt fits the quilt.
I made this quilt with my 10 year old grand-daughter who wanted to learn how to sew and instead of flannel we used cotton material. It was perfect for her to practice cutting and sewing straight lines. We used the picture as a diagram to lay out the pieces. We had a great time mixing and matching the colors we used. This was a great pattern to introduce her to sewing.

Check the math!
First the pattern is named wrong and under the wrong page. Then the cutting instructions tell you to cut more strips than the required rectangles. Then when laying it out, I discovered they didn’t even make the strips the same length! Look at my photo. Very disappointing for Joanne’s!

The layout diagram for this pattern is missing. Therefore, the patter...while a cute idea, is worthless without a LOT of calculations.

Where's the diagram?
I'm going to go ahead and use the instructions to guide me but it says, "Use Diagram A for layout. Fabric number is circled." There is no diagram, unless you are counting the project photo as your diagram. If this is the case, then you should change the wording because there are no fabric numbers circled. Some people may be able to figure out how to just make things work out but real beginners who are looking for step-by-step guidance have a high likelihood of getting lost.

Beginners need a pattern, or a diagram
I saw this was for beginners and bought the fabric in the how to amounts shown. Got home to read the directions and couldn't make the quilt without a video or pattern. Im a beginner and didn't know how to even begin without more information, such as a diagram that the how to refers to but doesn't include. Im really disappointing since I bought the fabric and had my heart set on this for my grandson and my 1st quilt. Please show a video or diagram on the beginner projects in the future

Missing Instructions/Diagram
The instructions aren't very clear. They mention a diagram which isn't included. Also, the quilt looks like a mixture of rectangles and squares but we're asked to cut all squares. I don't think the instructions are very useful.
