SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1/3 yd Each of 7 coordinating fabrics
- 1 1/8 yd Solid fabric for strips and binding
- 1 3/8 yd Fabric for backing
- 38"x 48" Piece of batting
- Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
- Basic sewing supplies
- Iron and pressing surface
- Sewing machine
DIRECTIONS:
-
36"x 44" Quilt
- Read all instructions before cutting and sewing.
- Use accurate 1/4" seams.
- Label your fabrics 1 to 7. Cut 2 strips from each 5 1/2"x WOF. From #1 cut (2)-3 1/2"x 5 1/2", (1)-4 1/2"x 5 1/2", (1)-6 1/2"x 5 1/2" and (1)-9 1/2"x 5 1/2".
- From solid fabric, cut (4)-2 1/2"x WOF. Set aside for binding.
- Cut (6)-1 1/2"x WOF strips. These are the strips that go between your vertical rows. Depending on the width of fabric, you may have to sew strips together for extra length.
- Cut (5)-1 1/2"x WOF. Subcut into (32)- 5 1/2"x 1 1/2" pieces.
- To find the downloadable diagram click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above. Use Diagram A for layout. Fabric number is circled. All pieces are 5 1/2" wide so sizes shown are the length of piece. Sew a 1 1/2"x 5 1/2" piece of solid between each piece.
- Press as you sew.
- Measure when sewn and pressed to ensure all strips are the same length. You will probably have to trim a little off the bottom on some strips to even up.
- Sew vertical rows to strips as shown in diagram. It will be more accurate to sew Row 1 and 2 to a strip, then Row 3 and 4 to a strip and Row 5 and 6 to a strip. Press well.
- Join the units with the remaining 2 strips. Press and trim if needed.
- Sandwich backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt as desired.
- Trim and sew on binding.
From #2 cut (4)-3 1/2"x 5 1/2", and (1)-8 1/2"x 5 1/2".
From #3 cut (1)-4 1/2"x 5 1/2", (1)-6 1/2"x 5 1/2", (3)-8 1/2"x 5 1/2", and (1)-10 1/2"x 5 1/2".
From #4 cut (3)-4 1/2"x 5 1/2", (1)-9 1/2"x 5 1/2".
From #5 cut (1)-4 1/2"x 5 1/2", (1)-5 1/2"x 5 1/2", (2)-6 1/2"x 5 1/2", and (2)-8 1/2"x 5 1/2".
From #6 cut (1)-4 1/2"x 5 1/2", (1)-7 1/2"x 5 1/2", (2)-8 1/2"x 5 1/2", and (2)-9 1/2"x 5 1/2".
From #7 cut (1)-4 1/2"x 5 1/2", (3)-7 1/2"x 5 1/2", and (2)-8 1/2"x 5 1/2".
JOANN HACKS:
- Use a lot of pins to join the vertical rows and strips. It will help not to stretch while sewing so your rows come out more even.

Terrible instructions
It looks like you are giving instructions for the quilt on the left but the layout picture is the one on the right. Pretty bad if you are trying to get people to buy fabric to make this project. It isn't working. You are just making your customers angry.

here's a better photo

strangely, the name is a little different, and so is the difficulty level, but this might help some of you. I'd offset the rectangles a little more so NONE of the horizontals line up.

Flannel Sunny & Bright Stripes Quilt
To see layout, go to NFL Lap Quilt and you will see a Get Pattern tab. The layout for all 3 quilts is there. The NFL Lap Quilt instructions are for the quilt in the middle and on the far right.

No "Get Pattern" on the PC version of this Project
There is no "Get Pattern" on the PC version of this Project which is where I want to print from. I see it on my mobile device (iPhone) but downloading a pattern on my phone is not helpful.

Wrong Pattern
These seem to be the wrong instructions. They are the same instructions that you have for the Sunny and Bright Square Quilt. The squares on this quilt look to be the same size but the instructions have you cut out various sizes of squares.
