SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 5 1/3yds flannel fabric for tent exterior
  • 5 1/3yds flannel fabric for tent interior
  • 1 set clip-on rings (14 count)
  • Iron & ironing board
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

NOTE: These instructions are for an 8" tall canopy tent, adjust if needed based on your ceiling height.

  1. Open up and lay out the 5 1/3yd fabric panels.
  2. Line up all edges with the right sides together and pin the entire perimeter.
  3. Stitch around the edge using a 1/2" seam allowance and remember to leave a 8" opening for turning.
  4. Snip the extra seam allowance fabric at the corners of the tent to help with bulk.
  5. Turn the tent right side out and press.
  6. Top stitch around the entire edge. When you get to the opening, make sure to turn in your edges and stitch it closed.
  7. At the middle mark of your canopy, clip on the rings evenly spaced and hang.

JOANN HACKS:

  • To help mark the middle of your canopy, fold your completed tent in half and iron a crease into the flannel. This crease will show you the exact line the clips should sit on.
