SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 2 yds Print Fleece
- 2 yds Solid Fleece
- Disappearing Fabric Marker or Pencil
- Matching Threads
- Basic Sewing Supplies
- Optional: Rotary Cutter, Mat, and Ruler
- MEASUREMENTS: Finished size 54" x 66"
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut solid fleece 58" x 70".
- Cut print fleece 54" x 66".
- To make mitered corners, on the wrong sides of the solid fleece, measure in 2" and up 2" from each edge at the corner and use a pencil or disappearing marker to place a dot.
- Fold the fleece right sides together diagonally. Use a pencil or disappearing marker to draw a seam line at a right angle to the fold from the dot to the fleece edge. The seam should be approximately 2 7/8".
- Sew along drawn line; trim seam to 1/4" and finger press seam open.
- Turn right sides out and repeat with the other corners.
- This will create a 2" binding on all four sides of the solid backing.
- Lay the solid fleece back wrong side up on a flat surface (large table or the floor) and tuck the print fleece right side up underneath the folded-up edges of the binding.
- Pin the binding in place and stitch all around blanket with a straight, zigzag, or decorative stitch.

Fleece blanket with binding
Turned out nicely. Cutting the fleece took me the longest. Had to rethink my quilter's mindset on the mitered corners. But, after reviewing the geometry of a triangle, clear sailing.
