Fleece Pillows

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 60" fleece fabric:
  • 1 yd. For 16" pillow with pom pom
  • 1 yd. For 20" pillow with tassels
  • Pillow forms for each pillow
  • Rotary cutter, mat and grid ruler
  • Cardboard
  • Glue
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    1/2" seam allowance
  1. 16" pillow with pompoms.- cut main fabric 17" x 17", for back cut one 17" x 13 1/2" and one 17" x 9 1/2"
  2. Fold under 1/2" on one side of each of the back pieces and sew.
  3. Lay front piece right side up.
  4. Lay the largest back piece right side down on front and place remaining back piece with right side down.
  5. Stitch all pieces together. Turn.
  6. For pompoms, make 4 -cut 17 - 1/4" strips width of fabric.
  7. Cut one piece into 4 for wrapping centers of pompoms
  8. Using a piece of cardboard 6" wide, wrap 4 strips of the fleece around slightly stretching fleece as you wrap.
  9. When you have wrapped the 4 pieces, slip off of the cardboard and tie center with one of the shorter pieces of fleece cut.
  10. Fluff pompom and trim into ball. Stitch to corners
  11. For 20" pillow with tassels: Cut main fabric 21" x 21", for back cut one 21" x 16 1/2" and one 21" x 12 1/2".
  12. Fold under 1/2" on both back pieces and hem stitch.
  13. Lay front piece right side up.
  14. Lay the two back pieces right side down on front, overlapping hem sides. Stitch all together.
  15. Make 4 tassels: Cut 2 strips 5" by width of fabric. Cut these into 18" pieces.
  16. With remaining fleece cut 4 strips 1/2" wide to be used to wrap top of tassels.
  17. Cut fringe along the long side of each of these 18" pieces, 1/4" wide and stopping 1/2" from top.
  18. Starting and the short edge, roll the fringed fleece tight, can use a small amount of glue as you roll.
  19. Starting at the fringe side, wrap the 1/2" pieces around top about 1" using a small amount of glue as you wrap. Weave in end.
  20. Make 4 and sew to corners of pillow.

Fleece Laptop Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 yd. - 60" fleece fabric:
  • 4 yds - 1" wide cord for piping
  • 2 bags polyfil
  • 2 - 19" x 13" pieces of thick batting
  • Rotary cutter, mat and grid ruler
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance)
  1. Cut 2 - 19" x 13" for top and bottom.
  2. Cut 1 - 4" x Width of fabric for sides.
  3. Cut 2 - 2 1/2" x Width of fabric for piping
  4. Stitch batting to top and bottom of pillow.
  5. Make piping for top and bottom with the 2 1/2" strips and cording using zipper foot.
  6. Sew one piece of piping around edge of top piece.
  7. Sew remaining piping to bottom.
  8. Sew 4" fabric for sides over top and piping with right sides together having edge at back of pillow.
  9. Stitch seam of side together at back, adjusting length if needed.
  10. Stitch bottom of pillow to sides with right sides together, leaving an opening at back for turning.
  11. Turn. Stuff
  12. Stitch opening closed.

Fleece Round Llama Print Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 yd. - 60" fleece Llama fabric
  • 1/2 yd - batting
  • 1 pkg. - cord for piping
  • 1 bags polyfil
  • Rotary cutter, mat and grid ruler
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance)
  1. Cut 2 - 15" circles for top and bottom.
  2. Cut 2 - 15" circles from batting for top and bottom.
  3. Cut 1 - 2 “ x Width of fabric for piping
  4. Sew batting to top and bottom pillow pieces.
  5. Make piping using the 2" strip and cording and sewing with a zipper foot.
  6. Pin and sew piping to top of pillow.
  7. With RST pin bottom of pillow to top, leaving an opening for turning.
  8. Turn and stuff.
  9. Stitch opening closed.
