- 1 1/3yd Fleece for Back
- 2 1/2yds for Flange
- Ruler with 45 Degree Angle Mark
- Basic Sewing Supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut front and back fleece 48"x 60"
- For the flanges, fold the fleece in half crosswise with cut edges together, selvages on sides.
- Cut 2 pieces of short flanges on fold 13"x 30" (13"x 60") and cut 2 pieces of long flanges on fold 13"x 36" (13"x 72").
- Mark the middle of each short side of the strips.
- Using 45 degree mark on ruler, draw a line from the center down each side forming a triangle.
- Place a mark 1/2" in on the sides of the triangle shape.
- With RST at triangle ends, pin the short flange sections to the long flange sections, keeping the short sides opposite each other and the long sides opposite.
- Stitch 1/2" seam starting and stopping at small dots.
- Turn the flange right side out matching the small dots (You now have four sides of a mitered flange).
- Pin the raw edges together and baste.
- Pin the flange to the right side of one blanket section, keeping the raw edges even. Stitch around entire blanket with 1/2" seam.
- Pin the remaining blanket right sides together over the flange, having the raw edges even.
- Sew around using a 1/2" seam and leaving an opening for turning.
- Turn, sew opening closed.
