SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1 1/3yd Halloween Panel Fleece for Front
  • 1 1/3yd Fleece for Back
  • 2 1/2yds for Flange
  • Ruler with 45 Degree Angle Mark
  • Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cut front and back fleece 48"x 60"
  2. For the flanges, fold the fleece in half crosswise with cut edges together, selvages on sides.
  3. Cut 2 pieces of short flanges on fold 13"x 30" (13"x 60") and cut 2 pieces of long flanges on fold 13"x 36" (13"x 72").
  4. Mark the middle of each short side of the strips.
  5. Using 45 degree mark on ruler, draw a line from the center down each side forming a triangle.
  6. Place a mark 1/2" in on the sides of the triangle shape.
  7. With RST at triangle ends, pin the short flange sections to the long flange sections, keeping the short sides opposite each other and the long sides opposite.
  8. Stitch 1/2" seam starting and stopping at small dots.
  9. Turn the flange right side out matching the small dots (You now have four sides of a mitered flange).
  10. Pin the raw edges together and baste.
  11. Pin the flange to the right side of one blanket section, keeping the raw edges even. Stitch around entire blanket with 1/2" seam.
  12. Pin the remaining blanket right sides together over the flange, having the raw edges even.
  13. Sew around using a 1/2" seam and leaving an opening for turning.
  14. Turn, sew opening closed.
