SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Burda® 9321
  • Use yardage on pattern envelope
  • 14" knit trim for bottom of leg
  • Sewing notions

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Seams are 5/8" unless noted. Follow pattern and instructions to complete pants.
  2. To make a slimmer pant leg:
  3. Starting 6" down below the waistline, gradually draw a line to the thigh area going in 1/2" then continue to the bottom of hemline.
  4. Draw a line from the inseam gradually going from nothing to 1/2" at the knee then going all the way down to the hemline.
  5. Cut trim to 7" for each leg. Measure around the hemline making sure the knitted trim isn’t larger than the hemline. Adjust trim if needed by making it the same measurement as hemline or smaller. Depending on the size of jogging pants adjustments to trim may be necessary.
  6. Complete pattern as directed on pattern instructions except the hem.
  7. Sew trim together, attach trim to hemline with a serger or large zig zag.

  • 18" knit trim for bottom of leg

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Seams are 5/8" unless noted. Follow pattern and instructions to complete pants.
  2. To make a slimmer pant leg: Starting 8" down below the waistline, gradually draw a line near the thigh area, going in 1/2" then increase to 1" to the bottom of hemline.
  3. Draw a line from the inseam gradually going from nothing to 1/2" at the knee then going all the way down to the hemline.
  4. Cut trim in half, 9" for each leg. Measure around the hemline making sure the knitted trim isn’t larger than the hemline. Adjust trim if needed by making it the same measurement as the pant leg or smaller. Depending on the size of jogging pants adjustments to trim may be necessary.
  5. Complete the pants as directed on pattern instructions except the hem.
  6. Sew trim together, attach trim to hemline with the serger or large zig zag.

JOANN HACKS:

  • When sewing a knitted trim use a serger or a large zig zag stitch so that the seams will not crack & break.
