DIRECTIONS:

Sleeping Bag

From both pieces of fleece, cut a piece that is 76” long by the width of the fabric. Trim of selveges from long edge, keeping the widths of the two pieces of fabric the same.
Fold panels in half long ways, creating rectangles that are about 30”X76”.
Mark the center of each fabric at the fold, top and bottom with a cut notch or pin.
Unfold the exterior fabric, laying it right side up. Open the zipper.
Pin one side of the sleeping bag zipper to the fabric. Teeth should face in, tape lining up with the edge of the fabric. Start at the center bottom, pinning the zipper about 1 inch from the center marking. Continue across the bottom, turning the corner and up the side. The zipper should end about 1/2” from the top. Repeat along the other half with the other side of the zipper.
Optional – baste the zipper in place before adding lining and batting.
Layer lining, right side down on top of the exterior panel and zipper.
Layer the batting on top of the lining. Pin well around all sides leaving an 8” opening along the top edge.
Sew around all sides using 1/2” seam allowance, leaving the 8” opening for turning.
Clip corners and turn through the opening.
Turn the seam allowance of the opening in and hand or machine stitch closed.
Fold the bag in half and close with the zipper.

Carrier:
Cut Patterned Fleece, Solid Fleece, and Quilt Batting to 14 1/2” x 27”.
Cut two pieces of Patterned Fleece to 5” x 23”.
Cut two pieces of Quilt Batting to 2 1/2” x 23”.
Cut Hook and Loop Tape to a length of 14 1/2”.

Make the body of the carrier:
Separate Hook and Loop Tape and position on the Solid Fleece along the short edges. Scoot the Hook Tape and the Loop Tape in from the edges about 2”, ensure that they are straight, and pin in place. Sew along the long edges of the tapes.
Pin Quilt Batting to the wrong side of Solid Color Fleece and sew around the edge with a long, basting stitch.
Pin Patterned Fleece to Solid Color Fleece, right sides together.
Sew the long edges together, flip right side out, and set aside.

Make the handles:
Place the batting on the wrong side of the Patterned Fleece handle, along one of the long edges.
Fold lengthwise, matching right sides together, and sew along long, raw edge.
Turn right side out.
Repeat for second handle.

Assemble the carrier:
Place handle ends inside the open edge of the carrier body.
Fold the carrier edge in and pin in place.
Sew with sewing machine, or handstitch.
Repeat for other side of the carrier.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chilly Weather gear This is great for chilly weather not cold (not less than 50). Hardest to find is the zipper so I used two zippers and meet them at the bottom. Also I left top 8 inches for fold down or room to have arms out. This showed a carry handle -- the pattern was not part of the main item. Would be nice to add them together (or an option). We had a sleep over the next weekend! Thanks for a great time.
