Fleece Sunflower Pillows and Bedding

Sunflower Pillows

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1yd yellow fleece
  • 1/2yd high loft batting
  • 1 bag Polyfil®
  • Marking pen
  • Long sewing needle
  • 1pkg half-ball button cover kit
  • 1 skein yellow floss
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance)
  1. Cut two 19" circles from fleece.
  2. Cut two 19" circles from batting.
  3. Mark center of fleece top.
  4. Layer the batting in back of both top and back circles.
  5. With RST, stitch around circle leaving an opening for turning.
  6. Turn and stuff firm.
  7. Stitch opening closed.
  8. Using long needle and floss, start in center back and pull to front.
  9. Pull needle and floss tight, and wrap around to back and pull through to front.
  10. Continue wrapping around to form five petals.
  11. Cover the button in kit according to manufactures directions.
  12. Using the floss and long needle, sew button to center of pillow pulling tight and knotting in back.

Bolster/Neck Roll Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1yd Home Dec Fabric
  • 1pkg piping
  • 1 bag Polyfil
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance) (21"x 8")
  1. Cut one 21"x 24" rectangle.
  2. Cut two 9" circles.
  3. Cut 2" strips for pipping to measure 1 1/2yds when stitched together.
  4. Make piping and stitch around the outside edge of the two circles.
  5. With RST, fold the rectangle in half to measure 21"x 12".
  6. Stitch along top leaving an opening for stuffing.
  7. With right sides together, pin neck roll side circles to each end of neck roll clipping edge if needed.
  8. Turn and stuff.

Stitched 14" Round Green Fleece Pillows

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2yd green fleece (for two)
  • 1/2yd high loft batting
  • 1 bag Polyfil
  • Marking pen
  • Long sewing needle
  • 1pkg half-ball button cover kit
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance)
  1. Cut four 15" circles from fleece.
  2. Cut four 15" circles from batting.
  3. Mark center of fleece top.
  4. Draw 1 line across center.
  5. Continue with lines as shown in picture of pillow. Until you have lines about 1 in apart.
  6. Layer the batting in back of fleece top and pin.
  7. Stitch across lines across top of pillow.
  8. With RST, pin quilted top to back leaving an opening for turning.
  9. Turn and stuff.
  10. Stitch opening closed.
  11. Cover button with fleece follow manufacturer's directions.
  12. Sew button to center of pillow pulling tight.

Round 14" Pillow with Boxed Side

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1yd Home Dec Fabric
  • 1pkg cover button kit or 1 large button for center
  • Long sewing needle
  • 1 bag Polyfil
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

    (1/2" seam allowance)
  1. Cut one 2 1/2" strip the length of fabric for side.
  2. Cut two 15" circles from Home Dec fabric.
  3. Mark center of fleece top.
  4. Pin and sew the 2 1/2" side strip to top circle.
  5. Stitch the short ends together after sewing to top.
  6. Pin and sew the bottom circle to side strip leaving an opening for turning.
  7. Turn and stuff firm.
  8. Stitch opening closed.
  9. Make the covered button according to manufacturer's directions.
  10. Using long needle stitch the button to center of pillow.
