Intermediate Under 1 Hour

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1 clear floral container with a decorative pattern or wicker on the outside of the glass container
  • Assorted artificial flowers
  • Floral paddle wire
  • Green floral tape
  • Wire cutters

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Snip off the long ends of the stems so that the flowers are about 14" tall. You will be creating the bouquet in you hand. Lay the first middle flower in the palm of the no dominant hand about halfway up the stem. Lay the next flowers in your hand around the first flower. Turn the bouquet as you go, but keep adding flowers around the middle flowers. The bouquet will start to become fatter and thicker as you continue to place the flowers into the bouquet. As you are building the bouquet make sure the colors are evenly spaced around in the bouquet and that the heights vary.

  2. When the bouquet is the size that you want, tip the bouquet upside down and wrap about 4 times around the stems of the flowers right where you are holding the bunch.

  3. Twist the ends of the wire tightly to secure the bunch of flowers. Use the green floral tape and wrap around the bouquet where the wire is to cover up the wire.

  4. Once the bouquet is completed, cut the base of the stems so that they are about the same level. Insert the bouquet into the glass vase.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Make sure you balance out the placement of the different colors so that you don’t create patterns and it appears more natural and not heavy in certain areas.
