SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Assorted Floral Picks
  • Assorted Greenery/Flowers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Floral Adhesive Tape
  • Ribbon
  • Hot Glue Gun/Glue Gun Sticks
  • Gown (Vogue pattern 1699 was used to make this one)

DIRECTIONS:

FOR BOUQUET
  1. Use wire cutters to cut floral picks into smaller pieces.
  2. Starting with greenery, create a bundle in your hand, making sure to disperse the greenery and create open space between the stems.
  3. Add several larger flowers like sunflowers, chrysanthemums, and other focal flowers throughout the bouquet, making most of the flowers closer to the base and allowing several smaller flowers to sit higher to add height. Add fillers and greenery throughout to make sure there are no empty areas.
  4. Wrap floral tape around the base of the bouquet to secure all of the stems together.
  5. Wrap ribbon around the base of the bouquet several times to cover the floral tape. Tie the ends into a large bow, leaving the ends of the tails long to hang below the bouquet.
FOR GOWN:
  1. Cut the heads of your chosen flowers from the stems. Arrange them along the bodice of your gown without gluing them in place.
  2. After determining where the flowers should go, use hot glue to attach them into place.

JOANN HACKS:

  • When placing the flowers on your gown, it can be helpful to take a picture of the arrangement to better assess if you're happy with the flower placement.
  • Use a heat gun to help remove any hot glue strings by heating it up and waving it at a safe distance over your gown.
