Floral Initial Mugs

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Laptop or Computer
  • Cricut Mug Press™
  • 15oz Cricut® Mugs
  • Cricut Infusible Ink™, Assorted Colors
  • Heat Resistant Tape
  • 12" x 12" Cricut® Standard Grip Mat
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Optional: Printer

DIRECTIONS:


  • To download the SVG files, click on the links below, then right click on the image to save as an SVG to your device.

    1. Open Design Space and Insert Floral SVG.
    2. Change your floral colors according to your infusible ink colors.
    3. Attach all alike colors.
    4. Highlight over entire svg and size according to your mug.
    5. 15 oz approx 10"x3" and 12 oz mug 8"x3".
    6. Insert a rectangle and, size it so it fits perfectly behind your floral svg.
    7. (This will be your base outline that you will add all the floral cuts onto).
    8. Attach the rectangle to the floral color that has the most flowers, for this mug its the light pink (12 flowers).
    9. Go to text and insert your initial.
    10. Change font to Cachet Pro Heavy and change the color to your infusible ink.
    11. Size so it fits in the middle of the floral SVG about 1"x1" depending on letter.
    12. Cut with the cricut, mirror all images being cut, and follow on screen instructions.
    13. After the cutting is done, peel away the excess infusible ink paper.
    14. Optional if you have a printer- Go back to your canvas and change your image to flatten, shrink the size to under 6" and print with the mirror on.
    15. Place your printed picture out as a guide for placement.
    16. Peel each floral petal off one by one and place onto the sticky rectangle that was cut with the 12 floral flowers on it, using tweezers.
    17. After all flowers and initial are placed onto one single sheet, set aside.
    18. Warm up your mug press, wipe your mug down with cloth.
    19. Place your one sheet color side down on the mug, tape down with heat resistant tape.
    20. Press with the mug press, and follow light guide until its finished.
    21. Let your mug completely cool before peeling away infusible ink.

    JOANN HACKS:

    • Print your image from design space by flattening the image so it becomes a print/cut and mirror image before printing. This helps as a guide while you are placing each flower together.
    • Wipe mug down well with a cloth.
