Floral Meringue Cookies

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1/4 cup Wilton meringue powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Parchment paper
  • Wilton gel food coloring in pastel colors
  • Wilton flower icing tips and tip 1M
  • Wilton disposable icing bags
  • Baking sheet
  • Mixer
  • Bowls
  • Toothpicks

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Mix 1/4 cup of meringue powder and 1/2 cup of water on high speed until soft peaks form.
  2. Slowly add in sugar and mix on high until stiff peaks form. Mix for about five minutes
  3. Add vanilla until combined.
  4. Divide mixture into bowls. Add gel food coloring to each bowl to make pastel colors.
  5. Pre-heat oven to 250 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Fill icing bags with mixture and pipe various flowers on to lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake cookies for 45-50 minutes, do not open the oven while baking. Once the cookies have baked, turn off oven and allow cookies to dry in oven for one hour.
