SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Unfinished Wood Circle
  • Acrylic Paint (Pink, Terracotta, Light Purple, Pale Yellow, Light Green, Dark Green, Blue, White)
  • Sheet of Carbon Paper or White Paper/Ebony Pencil
  • Tissue
  • Print out of floral design same size as the unfinished wood circle
  • Number #2 Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrushes

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using a flat paintbrush, paint the unfinished wood surface with the white paint and let it dry.
  2. Place the carbon paper or white paper (see white paper instructions below) under the floral design. Center the paper and design on the unfinished circle and tape it in place. Using your number #2 pencil, trace over the design to transfer it to the circle.
  3. Remove the tracing paper and floral design.
  4. Using the different acrylic paint, paint the design onto the wooden circle. Let it dry before paint adjoining colors.
  5. Making carbon paper out of white paper: Rub the side of the ebony pencil at an angle on white paper to cover the paper entirely with a dark layer of graphite. Then using a tissue, lightly rub the graphite in a circular motion to remove any residue.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Let paint dry before painting any adjoining colors so not to smudge the paint.
