SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Add 1/2 of fabric for tulle on pattern envelope
  • Plastic flowers
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Thread
  • Sewing notions
  • Kwik Sew 4011 Pattern

DIRECTIONS: All seams are 5/8" unless stated.

  1. Follow pattern instructions for under satin skirt.
  2. Place bottom of skirt on the fold (to enclose the flowers).
  3. Cut 2 tulle pieces the full width of fabric.
  4. Fold one layer of tulle in half, place 3/4 of flowers into tulle, gluing them in place. Repeat the second layer of tulle with remaining flowers (putting all the flowers in one layer of tulle will weigh it down.
  5. Gather tulle into the satin.
  6. Cut a waistband 2 1/2"x the waist measurement plus a seam allowance.
  7. Enclose elastic. Sew to gathered tulle and satin.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smaller flowers I’m going to make this project but w my own pattern. Smaller flowers in removable over skirt. That makes the under skirt washable. Sweet idea for wedding.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Washable? Disclaimer: I did not make this item, however this is still a fair question - How in the world does one launder this skirt?? I honestly do not see hot glue as being a washable item, especially with the weight of flowers. Cute idea, but impractical.
