SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Canvas
- Acrylic paint (Recommended: cream, grey, tan, white, yellow, green or use your own color palette)
- Assorted brushes
- Pencil
- Vase with flowers to use as a visual if needed
DIRECTIONS:
- Base paint the top 2/3 of the canvas with a mix of cream, white, and yellow paints and paint the bottom 1/3 with a lighter grey to look like a table or surface the still life is resting on. Allow this to dry before continuing.
- Lightly pencil in the layout of where the vase and flowers will go.
- Paint the vase dark grey, the leaves green and the flowers yellow. Follow the penciled in guides drawn out previously.
JOANN HACKS:
- Try not to overwork the painting, let the layers dry before adding more if the layers blend too much.
- Work in layers starting at the background and working towards the foreground.
