Item # 4221156703P143
Intermediate 3-5 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Canvas
  • Acrylic paint (Recommended: cream, grey, tan, white, yellow, green or use your own color palette)
  • Assorted brushes
  • Pencil
  • Vase with flowers to use as a visual if needed

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Base paint the top 2/3 of the canvas with a mix of cream, white, and yellow paints and paint the bottom 1/3 with a lighter grey to look like a table or surface the still life is resting on. Allow this to dry before continuing.
  2. Lightly pencil in the layout of where the vase and flowers will go.
  3. Paint the vase dark grey, the leaves green and the flowers yellow. Follow the penciled in guides drawn out previously.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Try not to overwork the painting, let the layers dry before adding more if the layers blend too much.

  • Work in layers starting at the background and working towards the foreground.
