  1. Cut (1) Template A from white minky and (1) Template A from white cotton. Transfer face design Template B to white cotton.
  2. Cut (1) 35"x 6" strip from yellow minky to create flower petal ruffle. With right sides together, sew 6" ends together to create a large circle. Fold in half, right side out, bringing raw edges together. Run a gather stitch along raw edge. Pin seam of ruffle to bottom center of white cotton piece cut from Template A. Gather evenly and pin ruffle in place. Baste ruffle in place. Pin white minky Template A to white cotton Template A and sew from marked dot to marked dot, leaving an opening at the neck. Turn right side out.
  3. Cut (1) Template C, (4) Template D, (1) Template E, and (4) template F from green cotton. Sew dart on body pieces C and E. With right sides together, pin pieces C and E together and sew from marked dot to marked dot, leaving neck open. Turn right side out. Sew arm pieces F and leg pieces D together, leaving open at top. Turn right side out.
  4. Stuff head, body, arms, and legs. Turn under 1/4" of top of body piece E and pin in place to back of head using placement guide marked on Template A. Hand stitch in place and around neck opening along the front of the body. The front neck opening should be stitched under the flower petal ruffle. Add stuffing as needed to fill out the neck as it is stitched in place.
  5. Turn under 1/4" along top of arms and legs and stitch in place on body.
  6. Embroider eyes, nose, and lip line with brown embroidery floss, cheeks and lips with pink embroidery floss, and freckles with green embroidery floss.
  7. To create bloomers, cut (2) template I from printed flannel. Sew front and back center seams.
  8. Along leg openings, turn under 1/4" and then 1/2". Top stitch in place to make casing for elastic. Cut (2) pieces of elastic 3 1/2" long. Feed through casing on each leg, secure both ends.
  9. Turn under 1/4" and then 1/2" along waist and top stitch in place, leaving a 2" opening at back center seam. Cut (1) 8 1/2" piece of elastic and feed through casing. Overlap elastic ends and stitch together several times to secure. Tuck elastic into casing and top stitch remaining 2" opening.
  10. Sew crotch seam.
  11. To create dress, cut (1) Template G on fold and (2) Template H from printed flannel. Cut (1) 1 1/2"x 20" strip from coordinating flannel for neck tie and (1) 6"x 22 1/2" strip from coordinating flannel for dress bottom panel.
  12. Sew dress back together from marked dot to bottom. Sew dress back to dress front along sides leaving arm opening between marked dots. Fold under raw edges of arm opening and back opening and top stitch.
  13. With right sides together, sew 6" ends of dress bottom panel together to create a circle. Fold in half with right sides out to create a 3" wide circle. Lining up raw edges and back seam, pin bottom panel to bottom of dress and sew in place. Press seam toward main dress.
  14. Gather stitch along neck edge of dress. Pin to center of neck tie strip at dress center and gather neck edge 2.5" on either side of center pin. Pin both ends of gathered neck edge to neck tie. Even gathers along neck and pin in place to neck tie between pins. Stitch in place. Fold under 1/4" of raw edges of neck tie, then fold in half, concealing raw edges of gathered dress neck edge and finishing all raw edges of neck tie. Top stitch along folded edges of neck tie.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute doll! I loved the idea but substituted brown fabric for the face to make it a sunflower doll. I found it difficult to sew the head as the yellow ruffle was very bulky. I also embroidered the face before cutting the front head pattern out, as I thought it was easier to do it that way than to embroider after the head was stuffed. My doll reminds me of the children of Ukraine.
