SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Foamie sheets:
  • Light pink 12"x 18"
  • Light pink 8 1/2"x 11" (2)
  • White 12"x 18"
  • White glitter 8 1/2"x 11"
  • Dark pink 12"x 18"
  • Pencil
  • Cutting mat
  • X-Acto® knife
  • Metal ruler
  • Hot glue gun/glue gun sticks
  • Gems
  • Colorful pom poms
  • Scissors
  • 2 toothpicks

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut a piece of light pink Foamie sheet 7"x 18".
  2. Cut 1" spaces out along one of the long edges to create the top of the castle. Mark the lines with a pencil and cut them out using an X-Acto blade and metal ruler on your cutting mat. Save the 1" squares you are cutting out for a later step.
  3. Lay the pink foam sheet you just cut out on top of the white foam sheet and glue in place. Cut along the bottom so they are flush with each other and cut along the top so that the white sticks out with a 1/4" reveal. Roll the foam piece into a cylinder overlapping the end and securing in place with hot glue. Set aside.
  4. Create two towers, one for each side of the castle. Roll one 8 1/2"x 11" piece of light pink Foamie into a cylinder overlapping the ends and secure with hot glue. Repeat.
  5. Create cones for the top of each tower with dark pink Foamie securing them with hot glue.
  6. Cut out a door and two windows from white glitter foam sheets. Glue the white glitter pieces onto the dark pink and cut leaving a 1/4" reveal around the outside edge.
  7. Glue the two towers on either side of the castle. Glue so that the seam on the castle is against the tower to hide it.
  8. Glue the door to the middle bottom of the castle and the windows on the towers on either side.
  9. Cut two strips of white foam 1"x 18". Using scissors cut a scallop along one edge.
  10. Secure the white scallop to the under side of the dark pink cone that is the tower roof with hot glue. Trim off any excess and repeat on both towers.
  11. Cut the 1" squares created in Step 1 from cutting the castle edge in half so you have 1"x 1/2" rectangles. Glue these here and there around the castle and towers in a brick pattern to add interest.
  12. Cut out two flags from white glitter foam and secure each one to the end of a toothpick. Stick each flag into the top of each tower.
  13. Add gems and pom poms to the castle to embellish. See photo for inspiration.

Craft Hack Tips and Tricks:

  • Make sure to use a low temperature hot glue gun so you don't melt the Foamie sheets.
  • Cut the pieces for the door and cones out of paper first. If you need to make a template, you don't waste foam sheets.
