Rated 4 out of 5 by from I really like this template This is a truly versatile 9 degree template. You can think of it as the "outside" half of the other 9 degree wedges on the market, but being only half, it's easier to manage. If you were to cut fabric wedges with this template just as it is, and assemble them dresden-style, the inside circle would be HUGE. However, you can make a dresden-like creation with a smaller inner circle simply by using this template to make smaller-base wedges. (When I say "base," I mean the smallest width of the wedge). You do this by first cutting your fabric strip to whatever width you'd like. Then line the wedge up so that the base (the narrowest part) lines up with the bottom of your fabric strip and one of the horizontal lines lines up with the top. Cutone side of the wedge on your fabric strip. Then slide the wedge so that it's mid-line intersects with the lowest point of the line you just cut (while still maintaining the line-up of the horizontal lines with the top of your fabric strip) and then cutting again. As the other reviewers said, this isn't a Dresden wedge. Traditional Dresden wedges are 18 degrees. I'm only giving 4 stars because it would have been helpful if Omnigrid had created lines on the ruler to make the creation of smaller based wedges easier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NOT a Dresden Ruler This was the only ruler in my local Joanns that was close to the Dresden ruler shape so I bought it for that purpose. After cutting my fabric and sewing it together, realized it is NOT a Dresden plate ruler. It IS a good quality ruler, but was a waste of money for me as I could easily use my regular straight ruler to cut these wedges. Disappointed.
