DIRECTIONS:

Refer to loom pattern (see GET PATTERNS tab).

CREATE A LOOMED BAND:
  1. Tip: In looming, warp threads are the threads that form the base of the design, they're wrapped over the loom. Weft thread is the thread that is stitched with. It runs under and over the warp threads as you stitch rows.
  2. Set up the loom in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, included with the loom. Warp the loom with 8 warp threads, using John Bead Good Felt Thread.
  3. Cut 90" of Good Thread. This will be the weft thread. Leaving a 30 inch tail, tie the end of this strand in a double knot around the left-most warp thread, about a quarter of the way up from the bottom bar. Bring the needle under the warps to the other side (the right hand side). Thread a size 10/0 beading needle.
  4. Pick up (7) size 10/0 beads, in accordance with the loom pattern. Slide the beads down the thread. They'll snuggle up to the left-most warp thread. Use your left hand index finger to hold the beads up under the warp threads. Each bead should sit in between two warp strands.
  5. Making sure to keep the needle above the warp threads, pass back through all the beads. Pull tightly. Repeat this step, following the loom pattern until your bracelet is the desired length. Note: The clasp will add 1 1/2" and is an adjustable clasp.
  6. Remove the bracelet from the loom. Weave in the warp threads. Do not weave in the remaining weft threads just yet.
  7. Use the remaining weft thread (and 30" tail thread left at the beginning) to create two loops on each end of the band. Working from the last row, weave to exit from the second bead in from the edge. Pick up (4) size 10/0 beads. Turn and go through the third bead in from the edge and continue through the second bead. Reinforce this loop three times. Next weave to exit the 6th bead in from the edge. Pick up (4) size 10/0 beads. Turn and go through the 5th bead in the row and continue through the 6th bead. Reinforce this loop three times. Weave in remaining weft thread by going through several rows and then trim remaining thread under tension.
  8. Repeat this step for the other side, using the 30 inches of tail thread left at the beginning of the bracelet.

ASSEMBLY:
  1. Use 4mm jump rings to attach the two loops on each side of the band to the bar connector.
  2. Cut a length of cable chain that spans the length of the loomed band. Use 4mm jump rings to connect it to the third loop on the bar connector.

ADD CHARMS:
  1. Embellish the cable chain with the charms, spacing them evenly along the chain, attached by 4mm jump rings.
  2. The bar clasp set comes with the lobster claw clasp and adjustable chain already attached.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Any loom can be used to create the band portion of this design.
