Patch Fabric Art
- Remove the back and the glass from the picture frame. Cut a piece of linen fabric 2" larger than the glass of the frame, on each side.
- Cut out a portion of the pattern from the patterned fabric. Pin it, centered to the linen fabric.
- Use a zigzag stitch to stitch around the edges of the pattern fabric piece, securing it to the linen fabric.
- Wrap the glass of the frame with the patterned fabric centered. Use the masking tape on the back of the glass to secure the fabric. Place the fabric wrapped glass and backing back into the frame and secure.
Embroidered Fabric Art
- Remove the back and the glass from the picture frame. Cut a piece of linen fabric 2" larger than the glass of the frame, on each side. Wrap the glass of the frame with the linen fabric. Use the masking tape on the back of the glass to secure the fabric. Place the fabric wrapped glass and backing back into the frame and secure.
- Cut a piece of the patterned fabric, 1" shorter than the frame opening on each side.
- Use embroidery stitches such as back stitch, chain stitch, and french knots to accentuate details in the fabric.
- When the embroiery is finished, carefully pull threads from the edges of the fabric, to create a rough edge 1/2" thick.
- Hot glue the patterned fabric to the linen fabric, centered in the frame.
Fringe Trim Fabric Art
- Remove the frame backing board and on one side spray it with the adhesive spray.
- Position the solid fabric on top of the glued board.
- Fold the edges over to the backside of the backing board. Use tape or hot glue to secure the fabric in place on the back.
- Reassemble the frame without the glass.
- Cut your decorative fabric allowing 1" all the way around for the linen backing fabric to show.
- Glue the decorative fabric to the linen, making sure to center it.
- Use hot glue to attach the cotton trim fringe on top of the edge of the decorative fabric to give it a finished look.
- To keep the fringe from unraveling place a small dab of Fray Check glue at the beginning and end of the trim.
