SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Framed unfinished wood
- Resin
- Paint pour paint (colors of choice *golds, bronze, pinks and creams were used for the example)
- Cups (one for each color of paint)
- Popsicle sticks (one for each color of paint)
- Glitter flakes in different sizes
- Brown stain
- Paper towels
- Painters tape / masking Tape
DIRECTIONS:
- Stain the frame of the unfinished wood piece with brown stain using a paper towel to rub on the stain and remove any excess. Make sure to get the inside edge of the frame as well. Set aside to dry.
- Mix the resin as directed on the packaging, divide into the number of cups you need for the amount of colors you have. Mix the paint with the resin in each cup using a popsicle stick.
- Tape off the front face of the frame with painters tape and fold over the excess to the sides.
- Add lines of resin across the middle of the framed wood in the same direction, varying the thicknesses and letting the colors bleed and blend together for a natural look.
- Add glitter in designated areas.
- Remove the tape and set aside to dry (see resin packaging for the total cure time).
JOANN HACKS:
- Make sure to leave the frame on a flat surface when pouring and drying so the resin dries level.
- Most resin comes with gloves, if yours does not, it is a good idea to work with gloves on.
