Fringe Fleece Throw Blanket

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Fleece: 2 yds (for front)
  • Fleece: 2 yds (for contrast on back)
  • 60" (for fringe)
  • Rotary Cutter & Mat
  • Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut fleece front and back 56"x 66".
  2. With RST, stitch blanket together using a 1/2" seam, leaving an opening for turning.
  3. Turn.
  4. Cut 6 fringe pieces 10"x 55".
  5. Stitch a basting line 1" from top cut edge.
  6. Cut fringe every 1/2"x 9", stopping before the stitched line.
  7. Layer 3 pieces of cut fringe and baste together at top 1/2" from cut edge.
  8. Pin the layered 3 fringe pieces to back of short side of blanket so that the fringe is just hanging out the bottom.
  9. Top stitch 1/4" from edge.
  10. Pin and stitch the remaining 3-piece section to opposite end.
  11. Trim the fringe on back to the stitching line.
