Galaxy Dyed Shoes with Diamond Dotz

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1 Bottle of indigo liquid Rit Dye
• 1 Bottle of purple liquid Rit Dye
• 1 Bottle of aquamarine liquid Rit Dye
• 1 Bottle of royal blue liquid Rit Dye
• Medium paintbrush
• 1 pair of white canvas tennis shoes
• 1 small glass bowl
• 1 jar of glittered Diamond Dotz
• Diamond Dotz glue
• Diamond Dotz applicator
• 1 fine tip white marker
• Plastic gloves
• Old towel

DIRECTIONS:

1. Wet the white canvas tennis shoes under running water.
2. Stay by the sink to apply the dye.
3. Shake well and open each bottle of colored dye.
4. With your medium paintbrush apply the different dyes like you are creating a painting of the galaxy. Let the different dyes run together or you can even apply one color on top of the other.
5. Blot off the water and dye with an old towel.
6. Let the shoes completely dry.
7. With the Diamond Dotz kit apply the Dotz randomly around the shoes as you would see the stars in the sky.
8. Use the fine tip marker to make stars that would appear farther away in the sky.
9. Let the shoes dry before wearing them.

JOANN HACKS:

• For fun, you can make constellation patterns with the Diamond Dotz on the shoes. For example, try creating the Little Dipper!
