Difficult to Work with Inconsistent Dye Process
I was so excited when this yarn went on sale. I bought 5 skeins to make a chunky blanket. First, if you like working with super plush chenille yarn then this is for you. My best guess is this is 3 cm in thickness vs the jumbo 7 one that's usually 2 cm in thickness. The center does have the plastic string, which you can use the burn method. I did come across, during the use of one of the skeins, a darker patch of purple instead of lilac with a thick hard piece of plastic string, too much to cut off and waste given the price of this material. On the first few outer yards, the yarn is beautiful but in the last 2/3 the quality started to get terrible. It was tagged and not as smooth, some parts were fatter than others. Very inconsistent quality. First time using Bernat brand. Maybe my last or just not ever buying they're extra thick type again. There are better quality yarns out there that are also less expensive.

Be aware
Trying to complete a blanket with this yarn. Beware that it may have multiple cuts that needed to be knotted together. I got to the end of the skein & it had10 single pieces about 1 foot each. Lots of knots throughout the skein too. Disappointing!

Be careful with Jumbo yarn
I hand-knitted a flare lap blanket as a housewarming gift, but I encountered a few knots and the edges are a bit uneven because the bottom is loose, which creates gaps. Tighten the ends to make the blanket look neater. Look for the next loop, then pull it through the first loop. After that, I sewed off the end to get rid of the wonkiness. Once the blanket was done, my mom enhanced the letter ‘B’ by loosely sewing over it using white worsted yarn. This might be my first and last time using Extra Thick yarn; if you’re not careful, you could burn yourself.

Tips for the yarn
Love this and use it all the time! The yarn does come with some knots in it, to make it smooth, just cut off the yarn, and get a lighter, set both ends of the yarn on fire and quickly blow out, then stick together. The yarn will stay together very well and will get rid of any bumps in your blanket. Hope this helps!

Love this!
I use the all the time and have started selling hand knitted blankets using this yarn! I use 5 for a blanket which usually turns out to be around 60” by 70”. All the colors turn out great no matter what, but some of my personal favorite are the Clay Caramel, Forest Medley, and Dark Navy.

Online ordering is an absolute disgrace and frustration!
I ordered 4 skeins of yarn. The order went through no problem. Then about 3 days later I get an email that part if my order wascancelled. Then what was left of the order got split up. Then when one part was about to be delivered I received an email saying it was delivered. It wasn't. The order showed up 4 days later with no notice. The other half of the order took another 10 days. It's good I don't actually run a business that depends on accurate and timely deliveries. Joann would NOT be my supplier. I will never use Joann again.

Ignorance
I purchased this yarn online and my husband went to pick it
Up. When he arrived at the store The customer representative at the register was very rude told him who cares that he drove an hour to pick up the order. She had 40 more minutes before she had to fill the order and even if she attempted to fill it, she wasn’t sure that the yarn was even there 25 minutes after my husband was told to leave the store and come back another day I received my order was canceled. Joannes fabrics is becoming swiftly the worst place to order any products from I will be contacting your inspirations and letting them know who Joann fabrics really is.
