Stop the Unraveling
I made a drawstring bag and used this cord as the 'string' to open and close it. It turned out really cute. I had some trouble with the ends, though. The lady at Joann's told me to use a lighter and slightly melt the ends so they wouldn't unravel. Well, the lighter just left a big glob of black charred mess. Maybe it was me not have much experience with the whole thing, but I didn't like how it looked. So, my husband suggested we use some shrink tubing. He put that on the ends and heated it up a little and, presto, now it looked like the end of a shoelace. Much better.
And here's a tip: to feed this cord through a casing with a bodkin, put some scotch tape on the end of the cord so the bodkin will have something to grab on to.
