SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • John Bead Semiprecious Chip Beads Opalite Mix
  • John Bead Semiprecious Chip Beads Syn Turquoise
  • John Bead Semiprecious Chip Beads Agate Mix
  • John Bead Czech Seed Bead Geometric Cube, Metallic Silver
  • 19 Strand Bead Stringing Wire
  • Clamshell Bead Tip Knot Covers
  • #1 Crimp Beads
  • Lobster Claw Clasp
  • 6mm Jump Rings
  • Chain Nose Pliers
  • Round Nose Pliers
  • Flush Cutters

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut 15 inches of bead stringing wire. On one end, slide on a #1 crimp tube. Compress the tube flat using chain nose pliers. Bring the other end of the beading wire through the open side of a clamshell finding. Using flush cutters, trim the tail of beading wire above the flattened crimp short enough to fit inside the clamshell cap without cutting the crimp.
  2. String the following onto the beading wire: 16 to 18 cube seed beads, 13 to 15 Gemstone chip beads, followed by 16 to 18 cube seed beads.
  3. String a clamshell finding through the back side, then string a #1 crimp tube. Use chain nose pliers to compress flat the crimp tube so that it sits inside the clamshell. Make it tight, but not too tight. The beads need a little air on the strand to move nicely.
  4. Using chain nose pliers, gently close shut the clamshells.
  5. Using round nose pliers, roll into a round shape the metal tabs on the clamshell findings.
  6. Use chain nose pliers to open and close jump rings, attaching them to the looped tabs on each clamshell finding. Attach a lobster claw to the jump ring on one of the sides.
