DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.- Please refer to pdf for diagrams of brick stitch onto a hoop component.
- Begin with 30 inches of Good Thread and thread a size #10 beading needle. Leaving a 7" tail, tie a double knot onto the hoop. Snuggle the knot next to the ring on the top of the hoop. String a size 8/0 seed bead onto the thread and bring it down to sit on top of the hoop. Bring the tail thread up through the bead. Pick up another size 8/0 seed bead and needle behind the hoop. Come around the front of the hoop and back through the bead just added. Repeat this step around the hoop for a total of 17 size 8/0 seed beads.
- Weave in the thread by going back through the last bead added, looping around the hoop component, and coming back up through the bead. Repeat this step through one more bead and trim remaining thread. Use the 7" tail left at the beginning to weave in the starting side in the same way.
- Slide an 8mm gemstone bead onto a headpin. Form a wire-wrapped loop on the top of the gemstone using Round Nose Pliers. Trim excess wire. Use chain nose pliers to link together six jump rings. Connect the bottom jump ring to the wrapped loop on top of the gemstone bead. Attach the top jump ring to the inside ring on the earring hoop. Suspend the chain behind the hoop. Open the loop on a fishhook ear wire with chain nose pliers. Attach to the top loop of the earring hoop and close. Repeat all steps for the second earring.
