DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.- Protect work surface with paper or plastic (recommended) and assemble supplies & tools.
- Adhere strips of tape to the canvas using the template provided for this project or in any desired pattern.
- Prepare paint. Squeeze out 1 1/2 teaspoons of each color in to separate piles on the palette paper. Then add a 1/2 teaspoon of Titanium White on top of each color.
- Using the palette knife or craft sticks, mix each color until all white is combined. Be sure to clean palette knife in between each color mixture.
- Using the brush, paint one color at a time in between the tape lines, cleaning the brush in between colors.
- Once all shapes are painted, peel tape up slowly and carefully. Tip: peel up in reverse order as you put them on to avoid pulling up other strips and creating a mess.
- Allow 24-48 hours to dry.
JOANN HACKS:
- Try different tape patterns to create many different looks and shapes.
- Some colors may be more transparent than others; to avoid visible brush strokes, consider using a watercolor brush as the softer bristles can give a smoother appearance.
