Cushion 15"x 17"

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 2 yds print fabric (2 cushions)
  • 1 yd coordinating fabric for piping
  • 10 yds cording for piping
  • 2 - 15"x 17"x 3" cushions
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Finished size 15"x 17"
  2. Cut 4 - 16"x 18" from print fabric for top and bottom of cushion.
  3. Cut 4 - 4"x 18" rectangles for side.
  4. Cut 4 - 4"x 16" for short sides.
  5. Sew side pieces together alternating 2 of the 16" pieces to 2 of the 18" pieces. (make 2 tubes)
  6. Cut 2 1/2"x WOF for piping to measure 4 yds for each cushion.
  7. Sew piping fabric together on short sides to measure 4 yards for each cushion.
  8. Make piping and sew around top and bottom of cushion.
  9. With RST sew side tube to top of cushion using 1/2" seam allowance.
  10. Sew the side to bottom cushion with RST, leaving an opening in back for inserting cushions.
  11. Turn and insert cushion form.

16" Pieced Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1/2yd ea. - 2 coordinating fabrics
  • 16" pillow form
  • Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. 1/2" seam allowance
  2. Cut 2 - 17"x 5" rectangles for the two outside rectangles.
  3. Cut 1 - 17"x 7" rectangle for center rectangle.
  4. Cut 2 - 17"x 12" rectangles for back from fabric of choice.
  5. With RST sew the two outside rectangles to center rectangle.
  6. Press seam towards outside rectangles.
  7. Press one long side of each of back piece and sew hem.
  8. With RST, layer back pieces over front and sew around outside.
  9. Turn and insert pillow form.

Hoop Wall Art

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Varies sized hoops
  • Assortment of cotton fabrics
  • Fabric glue or hot glue
  • Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place the inside of the hoop over your fabric and decide what image you want to feature in the hoop.
  2. Cut your fabric 1" to 1 1/2" larger than the hoop of your choosing.
  3. Put a small amount of glue around outside of hoop.
  4. Lay the fabric over the hoop, putting the outside hoop over fabric.
  5. Pull fabric to back of hoop and pull tight.
  6. Let glue dry completely.
  7. Fold access fabric to back and glue into place.
