Glow in the Dark Child's Spooky Print Mask

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 100% cotton fabric for mask
• 1/8"-1/4" wide elastic
• Pattern template (download PDF)
• Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:

1. Download the pattern by clicking "download PDF" below Print Description on the right.
2. Cut out pattern pieces from fabric
3. Match outer mask pieces right sides together, and sew the outer curve. Repeat with lining pieces.
4. Open both mask halves and press both seam allowances to the right.
5. Topstitch down the seam allowance, about 1/4" from the seam.
6. To make elastic ear coverings, cut two 6" pieces elastic and cut two 1"x 11" pieces fabric for cover of elastic.
7. Fold fabric in half lengthwise and sew a scant 1/4" seam on outside edge. Turn.
8. Thread the elastic through the tube as if you were making a scrunchie, except sew both ends of elastic to the open ends of tube ending with straight piece of fabric "scrunched" over it.
9. Lay one half of the mask down with the right side facing up. Pin the ends of the elastic in each corner. The elastic should extend toward the middle of the mask.
10. Match front and back pieces right sides together. Pin and sew around the mask, leaving a small opening at the bottom of the mask between the center front seam and corner to turn mask.
11. Turn mask right side out and press.
12. Topstitch around the mask, closing the hole at the bottom in the process.
