Item # 0922188784P34
Beginner 1-2 Hours
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 1 Pair of white canvas shoes
  • 1 Package of tie dye bottles, muted colors: green, blue, lilac, lavender, rose
  • Paper towels
  • Plastic bag
  • Plastic gloves

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Mix each color in their own bottles. You will be dyeing the shoes working at the front of the shoe first and then the back of the shoe alternating applications.
  2. Starting at the front toe of the shoe, start to sparingly saturate the canvas with the rose color. Only dye the shoe about 1" of the canvas towards the rear of the shoe. Apply at the same location on the other shoe. Let that part of the shoe sit and saturate by next adding the green to the back of each shoe about 1" onto the canvas. Then go back to the front of the shoe and add the next color, the lilac after the pink. Do the same to the other shoe. Go to the back of the shoe and next add the blue color. Then add the last color in the middle of each shoe, the lavender. Let them dry overnight.

JOANN HACKS:
  • Use less dye than you think you need because it will bleed farther than where you place it. To keep the colors from over bleeding, use gravity to help you. Lean the shoe at an angle propped up to make the bleed of the dye run downhill.
