SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Pattern templates
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- White thread
- Wonder Under paper backing, 2yds
- Iron
- Green fabric, 1/4yd
- Coral fabric, 1/4yd
- Blue fabric, 1/4yd
- Light blue fabric, 1/4yd
- Gray fabric, 1/4yd
- Yellow fabric, 1/4yd
- Floral fabric, 1/4yd
- Pencil
- White fabric
- 2 wood dowel rods
DIRECTIONS:
- Wall Hanging 1
- Cut a piece of the white fabric 25"x 33".
- Fold the edges of the sides and bottom under 1/4", iron flat, and then another 1/4", iron again. Sew along this edge.
- Fold the top under 1/2" and iron flat. Then fold the edge down again 1" and iron flat. Sew along this edge to create a pocket for the wood dowel.
- Cut out pieces of the colored fabrics slightly bigger than the pattern pieces from the templates.
- Iron the rough side of the wonder under to the back of the color fabric pieces.
- Trace the pattern pieces to the paper side of the wonder under. Cut out the pieces.
- Remove the wonder under paper backing from the pieces.
- Position the pieces in place on the white fabric piece.
- Iron each piece until it is secure to the white fabric.
- Wall Hanging 2
- Cut a piece of the white fabric 18"x 31".
- Fold the edges of the sides and bottom under 1/4", iron flat, and then another 1/4", iron again. Sew along this edge.
- Fold the top under 1/2", and iron flat. Then fold the edge down again 1" and iron flat. Sew along this edge to create a pocket for the wood dowel.
- Cut out pieces of the colored fabrics slightly bigger than the pattern pieces from the templates.
- Iron the rough side of the wonder under to the back of the color fabric pieces.
- Trace the pattern pieces to the paper side of the wonder under. Cut out the pieces.
- Remove the wonder under paper backing from the pieces.
- Position the pieces in place on the white fabric piece.
- Iron each piece until it is secure to the white fabric.
JOANN HACKS:
- Be sure to iron over the paper side of the wonder under when applying it to the colored fabric, then cut out the desired shape before removing the backing and ironing it in place onto the white fabric.
