Beginner Varies

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Frame 18"x 24"
  • 2-3 stems of assorted base greenery or one greenery garland
  • 2-3 assorted flower stems and 2 smaller bush flowers of the same kind (color could vary for interest)
  • White Sharpie paint marker
  • Floral wire
  • Floral tape
  • Wire cutters
  • Scissors
  • Computer
  • Printer
  • Staple gun

DIRECTIONS:

  1. On your computer, spell out the word you would like to write on the glass.
  2. Size the phrase or word to fix appropriately to the glass, leaving some space around the word. Print out the phrase full size. You might need to tile the phrase to get a complete printed layout. Tape the papers with the words together, lining up at the base line.
  3. Remove the backing board from the frame. Clean the glass thoroughly with window cleaner.
  4. Tape the phrase to the backside of the glass to use as a guide. Write the phrase on the front of the glass with the Sharpie marker. Let it dry.
  5. Use the greenery to create a floral “L" that will be attached to the frame at the upper corner. To do so, lay the base greenery against the top of the frame and bend it. If you need two pieces to make the “L", wire them together at the base of each stem.
  6. Lay the flowers and additional greenery on top of the “L" to determine where you'd like them.
  7. Once you are satisfied with the layout, using wire or floral tape, attach the flowers and additional greenery.
  8. Using a staple gun, attach the “L" swag arrangement to the upper corner of the frame.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Cut small additional pieces of greenery and tuck them in and around the flowers to give the piece more shape.
