Beginner 3-5 Hours

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Blank White T-Shirt
  • Color Shot Spray Color of Choice (purple used for example)
  • Stick-on Letters
  • Scrap Piece of Cardboard Larger than the Shirt or Table Cloth to Protect your Work Surface
  • Gloves
  • Wax Paper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Lay the cardboard or table cloth out flat on your work surface. Lay the shirt flat on your protected surface with a layer of wax paper between the layers to prevent bleeding. Make sure the shirt is flat with no creases.
  2. Lay out the desired saying on the shirt with sticker letters. Once all the stickers are in place apply pressure across them to make sure they are firmly stuck in place.
  3. Put on gloves and apply the Color Shot Color as directed, making sure to work in a well-ventilated area. Color Shot should be applied 6-8" away from fabric with smooth even strokes. Apply in light coats waiting 5 minutes between coats.
  4. Let dry for 30 minutes then remove the remove the stickers to reveal the words. Wash inside out with mild detergent after 72 hours and tumble dry on low.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Avoid rubbing the stickers after you place them down. This may cause them to shift on the shirt.
  • Make sure to remove all wrinkles before spraying.
  • The words will remain the color of the shirt so take that into consideration when choosing a shirt color. Lighter shirts will show colors brighter and white shirts will show the paint color true to color compared to colored shirts.
