Halloween Donuts

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • One dozen of your favorite plain cake donuts
  • Favorite frosting or glaze
  • Wilton fondant in white, green, black, purple, orange and yellow
  • Large round icing tip or mini circle and star cookie cutters
  • Silicon mat
  • Wilton fondant rolling pin
  • Small knife or fondant tools
  • Wilton edible food marker in black
  • Wilton decorating brushes
  • Small bowl of water

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Donuts can be lightly frosted, glazed or left plain.
  2. Roll out fondant with rolling pin on silicon mat.
  3. Carefully smooth fondant over donut. Use a small circle cookie cutter to cleanly remover fondant from the center of the donut. Cut away extra fondant around donut for a clean and smooth look.
  4. Roll out black and then white fondant. Use large round icing tip or cookie cutters to create a black and then white dot of fondant for the eyes. “Glue" the smaller white dot to the black dot by dabbing a small amount of water onto one side. The water acts like a glue between fondants. Stick completed eyes onto donuts.
  5. Use the black food marker to create a cute mouth, eyelashes and stitches for the Halloween creatures.
